Physical
Description Mutant Power: Energy Absorbtion, Strength, speed and stamina Extents (ability): Sebastian Shaw was a mutant with the superhuman ability to absorb kinetic energy and to use it in an unknown manner to enhance his own physical strength, speed, and stamina. Shaw had to be in contact with the energy in order to absorb it. If Shaw struck a blow to someone or something, or was himself struck, he would absorb the energy of that blow. He had also been observed to be able to absorb electrical energy directed at him. Shaw's power to absorb and convert kinetic energy made him invulnerable to various forms of attack. It was not known how long Shaw could retain the energy he absorbed. There was an upper limit to the amount of energy that Shaw could absorb and convert: once he was "overloaded" by an electrical energy discharged from the X-Man named Storm, and fell into a temporary coma. However, the exact extent of this limit remains unknown. All that was transfered to Ryan, upon the successful conclusion of the 'Corporation's' experiments. Personality Psychological Background: Ryan is very focused on what he wants. He doesn't let anything get in his way. He practices and works out religiously to achive that goal. Ryan lives what some would say, the darker side of life. But it's not out of choice, it's the fact that those he's after seem to prefer the sleezer side of life, living it up at night. Personality Quirks: Ryan smokes, which he's trying to quit doing. He doesn't even remember why he started all those years ago. He takes percaset and vicadins all the time, but not for a high, just to dull the pain he's constantly in. Doesn't drink much, but does have his days like others, where he drinks till he's drunk off his ass.
Soon after joining, Shaw learned of the Club's secret Council of the Chosen, a group of members who, unknown to the others, conspired to achieve world domination through economic and political means. Through the force of his personality, Shaw became one of the leaders of the Council, rising to the rank of Black Bishop. (Members of the Inner Circle are given titles corresponding to the names of chess pieces.) The leader of the Council, a White king, had the Council give considerable financial backing to Dr. Steven Lang's attempt to create new mutant-hunting Sentinels. Upon the collapse of Lang's enterprise, Shaw seized the opportunity to turn the White King out of office. Shaw then became Black King, leader of the Council of the Chosen (which he renamed the Inner Circle) and master of the Hellfire Club. As leader of the Inner Circle, Shaw worked closely with another leading member of the Circle, Emma Frost, its White Queen, who like Shaw, is a superhumanly powerful mutant. Shaw survived an attempted challenge to his leadership of the Circle by its renegade White Bishop, Donald Pierce. Shaw survived, but his body was useless. He was confined to a wheel chair as a quadriplegic for the rest of his life, something the strong man didnt like. With a business called the Corporation, he got involved in an experiment to transfer his consciousness to another. The body chosen was that of one of the Corporations own soldiers, Ryan King.
Soon the Corporation found out about Evelyn Malone and wanted to copy her. People were soon trained to capture this woman; they were told she was a cold-blooded killer. The Corporation was going after her and not caring who they killed in the process. To those that didnt know this, they were told the killings were Evelyns doing. David was one of the ones trained to find Evelyn. He tracked her down and lost her a few times, when quite by accident he ran into her one night, while his 8 year old son was in the car. A fight ensued and Evelyn was the only one to walk away. Ryan vowed to get her back for that and basically went from that day on training to do it. He was soon in the Corporation, like his father. Only difference, he didnt care what they did, as long as he could go after Evelyn. The Corporation trained their soldiers to go after mutants. They physically and mentally trained them, as well as gave them equipment for that. Ryan was very good at his job, but that all ended one night during an attempt to catch a rogue mutant. In order to save a small child that had wandered into the area, Ryan threw himself in front of the lightening bolt meant for the child. Ryan surprisingly didnt die, but he was brain dead. Perfect for what Shaw needed and wanted. The transfer soon worked, and for a while, Shaw was in complete control of Ryans body. But after about a year of this, Ryan started to wake back up. There was a struggle for the mind and body, but after realizing neither would win, they stuck up an agreement. Ryan still does what he needs to and a few things Shaw wants, but Ryan is in control. They talk to each other and have since gotten to like each other. Its not a perfect agreement, but Ryan got Shaws powers out of the deal and that helps with his fighting. Now knowing he stands a chance against Evelyn when he comes across her.
