Powers

Mutant Power: Can change her eye colour to see different areas of the light spectrum (such as UV)

Extents (ability): Lisa has the ability to see things such as infra-red, microwaves and UV rays which normal humans can't see. Her eyes change colour in accordance to what ray she wants to see.

Personality

Psychological Background: Lisa is very laid back and takes life in her stride; she is basically a life lover. The things that make her most happy is spending time with her family and learning new skills which can use to help others such as first aid and sign language. Her biggest fear is losing her sight and not being able to communicate with her deaf son. Her biggest hope is that one day that Harry will be able to hear for the first time in his life.

Personality Quirks: Will not drink orange juice with bits in as she tends to choke on them, has a tendency to close every door she goes through, especially if she is in a room so she knows when someone enters. Always carries eye drops in case her eyes dry out and to keep them in perfect condition. Seeing as her powers involve her eyes, this makes sense.

History

General History:
Lisa was brought up in an adopted family in Manchester due to the fact her parents died in a car accident days after she was born. Her 'parents' Sue and Ben couldn't have children of their own and Lisa was the only child they adopted. She attended a primary school just up the road from where they lived in the suburbs and excelled in her studies, especially where technology and science was involved. She also enjoyed knitting and at home would spend hours doing cross stitches of her favourite cartoon characters and giving them out as presents to her friends.

At secondary school, her abilities in the technological and scientific world increased and she won a young scientist prize in year nine. It was during this time that Lisa had her first taste of rock climbing as the family went on a hiking holiday to Scotland but ended up spending most of the time scaling up rocks instead. Her passion was born and ever since then, she has been to rock climbing session every other week, if not every week. Her chances at college were obvious to her parents and most of her friends. She decided to study physics, electronics, maths and textiles, all of which she did extremely well in. She joined up with a team of engineers and they, along with their solar and wind powered car, won an engineering award which Lisa still has on her mantelpiece. Along with that at A level presentation evening where Lisa got her certificate for four As, she received an award for her textiles, something which thrilled both her and her parents. Something else which they had celebrated was the fact that Lisa had got into university to study a dual course in electronics and physics at Manchester University, which meant she wouldn't be far from home.

It was in her second year at university that her powers started to manifest. After a week of headaches and her eyes hurts, she went for an eye test just to be told that she had 20:20 vision and had very good eye sight. She soon found out what the problem was when she looked out the window on a particularly sunny day to find herself blinded and unable to leave her room due to all the UV rays. She also noticed the very weird colour of her eyes, they had turned purple! The rest of the time at university was a struggle between trying to get to lectures and damaging her eyesight. Her powers at this point were barely controllable and she spent many nights in tears and in pain. It was in her fourth year when she meet up with a fellow scientist, a research student called Craig and they, after a few weeks of courting, fell in love and Lisa told Craig about her abilities. Craig surprisingly didn't blink an eyelid, it turned out that he was a mutant too, but his powers were far less spectacular than hers. He 'merely' had heightened hearing, about the same if not better than a bat's.

When they both finish university, Craig with a first, Lisa with a 2:1, they set up home together and soon had a son Harry, who was sadly born deaf. Eager to communicate with their son, both Craig and Lisa took sign language lessons and taught their son to sign. Their son was a bright lad and like his mother and father did very well at school. Despite being picked on, Harry was a happy lad and had a strong will. His mother's powers already seemed to be manifesting in him as at the age of ten he could see infra-red light and shared his parent's interest in science.

When Harry was thirteen and Craig and Lisa had been married for many happy years, Lisa was contacted by a group of mutants who had heard about her abilities as a teacher. Even though she had only been a certified teacher for two years, Lisa accepted due to Craig and Harry's encouragements.

Special Notes:
Craig currently works at a research facility for cancer and Harry wants to become an engineer who specialises in mobile communication.
