Psychological Background: Tries to be quiet, though unable to bite her tongue as much as she thinks she should, she is ultimately doomed in this endeavor.  She hates to be called trailer trash though this is how she generally thinks of herself.  She tends to struggle between selfishness and guilt that she knows is unreasonable.

Personality Quirks:

History

General History: Her mother had a one night stand with Logan when she was between marriages and while barhopping, met and hit it off with him at some Pennsylvania roadhouse near the trailer park, never saw him again after barclose and isn't even sure she's remembering right when she answers 'who's my daddy?' with 'just some guy called Logan'.

Several years later she met and married Brandy's stepfather Travis, a dishonest scam-artist running on the tent-revival circuit. When Brandy's ability presented itself at the age of 12 while she tried to hide a beaten puppy from her folks, it was seen as a golden opportunity to her opportunistic stepfather who swiftly exploited her as a faith healer in his little traveling tent revival.  Aquiring a plethora of scars and becoming progressively unhealthy herself with the residuals of other people's illnesses which took longer to purge from her system than time she was given between shows of the traveling revival.

Her stepfather Travis had a talent for guilttrips and Brandy usually ended up feeling worse about her selfishness to have complained than her physical misery when she tried to refuse.  She often dreamed of running away but that just made her feel as if she was as selfish as Travis implied, to turn her back on all the sick people who came to the revivals.  Though her belief in God was crushed early by this situation.. and knowing that it was all a scam if not for her.

She was grateful still when a few people from Xavier's institute came to talk to her after having sat in one of the revivals.. she learned later the professor himself had found her with Cerebro when the revival had been nearby some time before that.  The way it was put to her assuaged the brunt of the guilt she felt at wanting to jump at the chance to leave, it made sense that she could do more good learning how to use her gift without wearing herself so dangerously down as she had been.

Yet as she did arrive at the institute she couldn't help not feeling guilty and didn't feel guilty about that at all.  It was only the physical she was given when she got there that discovered her parentage.

Special Notes: Wears a loose long to her ankles peasant type dress with overlong sleeves and depending on the current state of scars, a full-face mask. She may sometimes wear a realistically painted into pretty face mask for special occasions though most often she just wears blank white plastic masks commonly found at arts and crafts stores when out in public and when not in public will most often wear a range of simple soft cloth masks in varying colors. Will say she's a burn victim when questioned by strangers about the mask.
